As hard to bear as heavy stone,
As hard to chew as solid bone,
As painful as an open sore,
And yet more painful to ignore.
Yet in the bearing, chewing, healing,
Though to see may send us reeling,
Lighter, tender, sweeter still
Is Truth when we have had our fill.

A great frustration
Is knowing one can’t argue
Others to knowledge.

Silence beyond names
Is a far more adept way
To know the Divine.

At the end of all my searching,
Through endless Mystery lurching,
I see that I am blind.
I know my simple mind.
At the end of all, I find
The many things I can’t unwind.

When it comes to Divine,
Sometimes words are fine.
Yet I’m here to report
They all simply fall short.
Rest in Unknowing.
Keep the Mystery going.
It’s our ignorance showing;
Our own horn we are blowing
When we claim to see
All that could possibly
Make up Eternity.
So it’s best we just Be.

To “know” is easy;
Much harder to keep tension
Between faith and doubt.
